Diabetes Prevention Program Enrollment Open
United American Indian Involvement of Los Angeles, California is
currently seeking pre-diabetic members of the Native American
community to take part in a program that can reduce the risk for,
and potentially prevent the onset of, diabetes.
To be eligible for the program you must be eighteen or older, have a
CDIB card or letter, and be pre-diabetic; a term meaning that you
possess the health factors which put you at risk for becoming
diabetic.
If you have never been tested and believe you may be at risk for
diabetes, testing is provided through United American Indian
Involvement.
The Diabetes Prevention Program is both an educational and activity
program, and a support group. Diabetes is a deadly, debilitating
disease. Learn how you can reduce your risks and help your family
and friends to stay healthy.
Participation in the program is free. Testing is free. Think of
what you can offer your community as a healthy role model, and a
healthy human being.
